Experience lacking in Springboks

7:34 am on 28 July 2011

The Springbok coach Peter de Villiers says there is not a lot they can take from last weekend's loss to the Wallabies so he comes to New Zealand with a clean sheet.

With 21 top-line players injured at home and a handful more suffering injuries in Sydney, de Villiers will have slim pickings when he names his side today for Saturday night's Tri-Nations match in Wellington.

While he hopes the players will have learnt something from the loss to the Wallabies, he'll be starting fresh again this week.

He doesn't want to remember last week's effort because of the contributions of the players, whose leadership wasn't very good, but he hopes a week's experience will be enough for the rookies to stand up for themselves.
