Seven-year-old Lachlan Stevens-McNabb has won his second successive World BMX Championship title at the event in Copenhagen.

The Rotorua rider won the six years world title in South Africa last year, and carried on with wins in all three qualifying motos, his quarter-final, semi-final and final.

Twenty-one New Zealand riders took part for riders from five to 14 years, with 17 making it through the three-race qualifying phase, taking five podium placings from nine finals.

Rangiora's Tahlia Hansen won silver in the 14 years girls while there were bronze medals for Rotorua's Ngahina Pene in the eight years girls, North Harbour's Rico Bearman in the eight years boys and Hamilton's Kaly Harcourt in the 10 years girls.
