Crushing second test victory for England

6:01 am on 2 August 2011

England are 2-nil up in their 4-match test cricket series against India after a crushing win by 319 runs inside four days at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Tim Bresnan was England's bowling star on the final day picking up career best figures of 5 for 48 as India capitulated for 158.

Bresnan's match-winning effort with the ball followed 90 with the bat.

Sachin Tendulkar is still seeking his 100th international century, although he was India's top scorer in the second innings with 56.

England are well placed now to displace India at the top of the world test match rankings, needing to win the series by two clear tests.
