Dhoni says England pitches hold no demons

9:26 am on 2 August 2011

The Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni is refusing to blame the hard and fast England pitches for his side's capitulation in the second test at Trent Bridge after the tourists were skittled for just 158 in their second innings to lose the match by a crushing 319 runs.

Tim Bresnan was England's bowling star on the final day picking up career best figures of 5 for 48 as the hosts claimed victory with a day to spare and 2-nil lead in the four test series.

India are now facing the very real prospect of losing their number one test ranking to the home side, but Dhoni says their sub-par performance has nothing to do with the English conditions.

The third test starts at Edgbaston on Thursday.
