Roosters trio to face disciplinary committee

6:09 am on 10 August 2011

The Sydney Roosters trio Todd Carney, Nate Myles and Frank-Paul Nuuausala will face the National Rugby League club's disciplinary committee today after breaking the team's alcohol ban.

The Roosters confirmed the players had been out at two Sydney drinking establishments on Monday night, just a week after the squad had pledged to avoid alcohol for a two-week period.

The commitment to stay off the drink is believed to be motivated by a determination to curb the club's deteriorating off-field behaviour.

Investigations by the club have so far found no evidence of any anti-social conduct.

The meeting could have huge ramifications for Carney, who is a serial offender in relation to alcohol-fuelled indiscretions.

The reigning Dally M medallist was thought to be on his last chance after being stood down by the club earlier this year following a drinking session with then teammate Anthony Watts.
