The All Whites skipper Ryan Nelsen is set to miss the start of the new English football Premiership season this weekend.
Nelsen missed Blackburn Rovers' successful battle against relegation at the end of last season after having knee surgery in April.
The club was hopeful that he'd be right for this weekend's opener against Wolves, but the 33-year-old is yet to regain full fitness.
