New All Black lock Jarrad Hoeata has flown to South Africa with the rest of the New Zealand team, after being declared fit following a scan on his right shoulder.
Tom Donnelly has been released to return to his provincial side Otago, where he's bracketed in the reserves for Sunday's crossover away game at Waikato.
Barring further injury, the decision effectively rules out Donnelly's chances of playing at the World Cup, which starts here next month.
Donnelly has played 15 Tests for the All Blacks.
