Slade confident about starting against Springboks

The All Blacks' decision to leave first-five Dan Carter at home for the return Tri Nations match in South Africa means a big test for Colin Slade.

Carter and seven other first-choice players who started in the win over Australia last weekend will miss the penultimate Tri Nations Test at Port Elizabeth on Sunday week.

Slade was out for much of the Super Rugby season after breaking his jaw for a second time but he's not worried about a third break or his first start against the Springboks.

He says his confidence grows every time he gets on the field and it's a great team to be a part of, which brings out the best in everyone.
