Breakers sign second US import

The New Zealand Breakers have signed their second and final import with point guard Cedric Jackson to join fellow American Gary Wilkinson next season

The defending champions have one more player to sign to fill a roster depleted by the loss of Tall Black point guard Kirk Penney, who's moving to Spain.

Jackson impressed the Tall Blacks Head Coach Nenad Vucinic and former NBA star Dee Brown, who's now a head coach in the American D League, where Jackson featured in the All Star game earlier this year.

Breakers Head Coach Andrej Lemanis says Jackson has always had very good assist numbers and they look forward to him creating scoring opportunities for his team-mates.

Lemanis says Jackson's had a taste of the NBA with Cleveland, Washington and San Antonio and his drive to get another chance should ensure he plays and practices with plenty of energy.
