Taranaki's gone to the top of provincial rugby's ITM Cup Premiership with a 26-23 win at New Plymouth in a crossover match with Tasman in New Plymouth.
The Championship stugglers dominated possession and territory for most of the match and led 10-0 early and 16-13 at half-time but failed to make the most of their chances early in the second spell before title contenders Taranaki took a 10-point lead with a breakout try to right wing Andre Taylor.
Tasman's last minute second try secured a bonus point while after three games in a week Taranaki gets an eight-day break.
