New Chelsea manager frustrated with first up draw

The new Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was a frustrated spectator as his side kicked off their Premier League football campaign with a tepid nil-all draw at Stoke City.

After a muted first half, Chelsea picked up the pace in the second stanza with Striker Fernando Torres behind many of the Blues forward surges, but despite dominating the game last year's runners-up could not find the back of the net.

Two of Chelsea's title rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool, have also already dropped points with draws against Newcastle United and Sunderland, while champions Manchester United kicked off their title defence with a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Villas-Boas has already said nothing less than a title will suffice at Stanford Bridge and he was left lamenting a slow start to Chelsea's season.
