Wenger could lose Nasri as well

9:50 am on 16 August 2011

Manager Arsene Wenger admits Manchester City target Samir Nasri could follow Cesc Fabregas out of Arsenal before the end of the English football transfer window.

Wenger has finally conceded defeat in his two-year battle to keep Fabregas and the Spaniard was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player today.

But the star exits from the Emirates Stadium may not end there because Nasri is keen to accept an offer from City and the France midfielder has only one year left to run on his contract.

That leaves Wenger faced with the unpalatable prospect of having to sell Nasri as well as Fabregas to avoid being stuck with an unhappy player who would leave on a free transfer next year.

Wenger is still trying to persuade Nasri to commit to the Gunners, but it is possible the transfer could happen before the August 31st transfer deadline.
