Breakers considering bigger venue for some games

The Australian National Basketball League Champion New Zealand Breakers have a new naming rights sponsor and are also planning to play some games in central Auckland this season.

General Manager Richard Clarke says the three year deal with Skycity is the club's largest sponsorship.

Clarke says the North Shore Events Centre will still be home court but the Vector Arena's being considered for some feature games to try to attract bigger crowds and new fans, similar to what rugby league's Warriors did with Eden Park.

He says during last season's playoffs a lot of people said they would go to games in the city and playing some games at Vector Arena would give them a chance make good on that promise.

Clarke says it's a test and they won't know the answer until they play there.
