New Zealand's newly crowned K1 200 world canoeing champion Lisa Carrington says her next goal is to get K2 500 team-mate Erin Taylor into the London Olympics after Carrington became the first New Zealand kayaker to qualify for next year's games.

The 22-year-old Aucklander finished first in the women's final of the K1 200 beating highly rated Polish and Ukrainian opponents into the minor placings.

Carrington and Taylor finished a disappointing last in the final of the K2 500 earlier in Hungary and Taylor now must wait to the Oceania Champs next March to qualify for London.

With Carrington already qualified after becoming the first New Zealand women to win gold at the world champs, she says her focus is now on ensuring New Zealand have a women's team in the K2 500 in London 2012.
