Marshall walking a little lighter

The Wests Tigers National Rugby League captain Robbie Farah says star playmaker Benji Marshall has had a massive weight removed from his shoulders with the dismissal of an assault charge.

Marshall was on Wednesday cleared of a charge of assaulting a man at a McDonalds restaurant in the Sydney CBD in March.

The Tigers five-eighth has been in brilliant form in his side's run of six straight victories as the NRL season heads towards the finals.

Asked if Marshall's clear head would mean he could play even better, Farah says he was content with the standard already set.

It's been all good news for the Tigers, who experienced a mid-season hiccup as several players sorted out their futures.

Injured internationals Lote Tuqiri and Gareth Ellis will return for Monday night's clash with strugglers Gold Coast at Campbelltown.

Test centre Chris Lawrence (hamstring) is due back for week one of the finals.
