Chelsea football striker Didier Drogba was knocked unconscious during Sunday's 3-1 Premier League win over Norwich City in London.
The Ivorian was drafted back into the starting lineup to partner Fernando Torres up front but was accidentally punched as Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy came out to meet the ball.
Droga was already unconscious from the punch and hit the ground awkwardly.
Blackburn Rovers remain bottom of the table after losing 1-0 at home to Everton thanks to a stoppage time penalty.
Elsewhere Liverpool beat Bolton Wanderers 3-1 at Anfield and Wigan Athletic beat visitors Queens Park Rangers 2-0.
Aston Villa played out a scoreless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Birmingham's Villa Park while Swansea City also drew a blank in their nil-all draw with Sunderland in the Welsh city.
