Sonny Bill Williams having second thoughts about staying in NZ

Sonny Bill Williams is having second thoughts about remaining in New Zealand after the Rugby World Cup.

A potential personal sponsorship conflict with one of the All Blacks' key sponsors has emerged as a contractual stumbling block between the New Zealand Rugby Union and Williams' management.

Williams had already confirmed he wouldn't be returning to the Crusaders next year but had said he would play Super Rugby in New Zealand next year, with the Blues and the Chiefs in line to sign him.

But he's now reviewing that decision, saying a player can change his mind.

Williams says he's spoken to Blues coach Pat Lam and All Blacks and Chiefs assistant coach Wayne Smith, telling them he won't be making a decision till after the tournament and they're comfortable with that.

Williams says he wants to focus gaining a starting spot in the All Blacks lineup.
