Scown and Haigh confirm qualification for London Games

New Zealand's world champion women's pair of Rebecca Scown and Juliette Haigh have qualified for next year's London Olympics, in advancing to their final at the world rowing champs in Slovenia.

Scown and Haigh comfortably won their semi final and are on course to defend their crown.

The former World Champion single sculler Mahe Drysdale had a comfortable win in his quarterfinal to advance to the semis, as did the former world champion lightweight double of Storm Uru and Peter Taylor who headed home the reigning world champion British crew.

The men's lightweight pair, also qualified for the final, finishing third in their semi, although this is a non-Olympic class.

The men's four and the women's lightweight double advanced to their respective semi finals through repechage.

The men's eight failed to qualify for the top six final and must now win the B final if they're qualify for the London Games.
