Aussie on top in Galle

The Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon took 5 wickets on debut at the tourists took control of the first cricket test against Sri Lanka in Galle.

On a remarkable second day where 16 wickets fell, Lyon claimed 5 for 34 - including a wicket off his first ball in Test cricket - as Australia took a near unbeatable position in the match.

The tourists dismissed Sri Lanka for just 105 in their first innings and by stumps were 115 for 6 to be 283 runs ahead with four second innings wickets remaining.
