Russian Sergey Bakulin has won gold in the men's 50 kilometres race walk at the world athletic championships in South Korea, covering the distance in a time of three hours 41:24.
Denis Nizhegorodov, also of Russia, caught Jared Tallent in the closing stages to claim the silver while the Australian had to settle for the bronze.
New Zealand walker Quentin Rew finished 24th in Daegu Korea, two minutes off his personal best in finishing 27 minutes behind the winner.
