The Serb improved his sensational 2011 record to 60-2 with a 6-3 6-4 6-2 victory over the 30-year-old Davydenko in New York.
The world number one Djokovic next meets 22nd seed Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine, who beat Ivo Karlovic of Croatia to advance.
