Serena Williams should learn her fate today

Serena Williams, the beaten favourite in yesterday's womens final at the US Tennis Open, should learn her fate later today after another high-profile rant at officialdom.

During her straight sets loss yesterday to Australia's Samantha Stosur, Williams hurled menacing remarks at the umpire which could lead to her second suspension in the last two years.

At the 2009 US Open Williams was docked a penalty point which effectively gave her semi-final match to Kim Clijsters. She was also heavily fined, put on probation for two years, and threatened with suspension for any repeat performance.

Williams showed no contrition for her behaviour after the match.
