Chelsea to investigate Torres interview

The Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas says the Premier League football club will conduct in-depth investigations into comments made by striker Fernando Torres during an interview with a Spanish website.

The 27-year-old Torres, spoke to the website of Spain's Primera Liga last week, with a translation appearing on his personal website which quoted him as saying Chelsea's older players were "very slow."

The misfiring Spaniard, who has scored just one goal since his record 50 million pounds move from Liverpool in January, has insisted he was misquoted in the English translation but Villas-Boas wants to listen to a recording to make up his own mind.

Villas-Boas says if Torres is found to have been accurately quoted the striker could be fined by the club.
