Trust us we know what we're doing is the message from the All Blacks selectors to nervous All Black fans.

The side picked for the Rugby world cup opener against Tonga raised a few question marks, particularly with two non specialists wingers in Isaia Toeva and Richard Kahui being named on the wing.

Tomorrow the selectors name their side for Friday night's match against Japan and assistant coach Steve Hansen has indicated Conrad Smith is likely to start at centre and Mils Muliaina at fullback.

Hansen says he's understands the nervousness among the New Zealand rugby public.
