Auckland's Scott Winton has lived up to his favouritism with a more than five minute win in today's Lydiard Marathon in the Waitakere Rangers.
Fellow Aucklander Jonathan Jackson was second with Waiuku's Jeremy Moody third.
Winton's winning time was two hours, 37 minutes and 55 seconds.
The women's race was won by Auckland masters runner Melissa Norris with fellow Aucklander Mikki Williden second.
