Leading greyhound racing man's dog returns positive drug test

The chairman of Greyhound Racing New Zealand John McArthur has resigned from the body which runs drug testing procedures for horse and dog racing, after one of his dogs tested positive for morphine.

McArthur has resigned from the Racing Integrity Unit but will stay on as chairman of Greyhound Racing New Zealand while an inquiry to into the positive test from his dog Miss Gigi continues.

The positive test was returned at a Wanganui meeting late last month.
