Tony Martin gave Germany their second time trial gold medal at the world road cycling championships in Copenhagen, adding the elite mens title to his time trial victories in this years Tours of France and Spain.

26 year old Martin set a best time at every checkpoint to take the title after winning bronze medals in the previous two years.

He won by more than a minute from Britain's Bradley Wiggins and Switzerland's four-times champion Fabian Cancellara.

The New Zealand pair Jesse Sargent and Jack Bauer finished 19th and 20th respectively, nearly four and a half minutes down on the winner.
