Australia continues to be beset by injury problems with number eight Wycliff Palu ruled out of the remainder of the Rugby World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Palu hobbled from the field in the Wallabies win over the United States in Wellington on Friday, however the Wallabies have indicated they may wait until next week before naming a replacement.

The Tri-Nations champions Australia play Russia in their final game on Saturday in Nelson.

On a brighter note flanker David Pocock is ready to play again after missing two games because of a back injury.
