Just a week after former New Zealand international Justin Vaughan announced his resignation as Chief Executive of New Zealand Cricket, another former international player's announced he's stepping down from a leadership role in the sport.

The former Black Caps bowler Gavin Larsen has resigned at chief executive of Wellington Cricket after four years in the job.

Larsen says he'll still remain involved in cricket in some capacity but has decided to pursue new business opportunities.

The new chief executive of Auckland Cricket is Mark Cameron, who's currently CEO at trans-Tasman netball franchise the Northern Mystics.

For three years Cameron was also general manager of the New Zealand Basketball League.
