Manchester City player refuses to take the pitch

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has told reporters that Argentine forward Carlos Tevez refused to play when Mancini told him to come on as a substitute during their 2-nil defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League this morning.

He says Tevez was "finished" and would never play for City again.

Mancini says the Argentine refused to warm up and again refused to go on the pitch with 35 minutes to play when City were in a losing 2-nil position.

Tevez has had an uneasy truce with City since angling for a move away from the club this year, citing family reasons and has only played one full match this season.
