The Hurricanes have re-signed halfback Chris Smylie, bringing the number of contracted players to 25 for next year's Super Rugby season.
Smylie, the captain of the North Harbour provincial team, returns to the franchise from the Blues, after making seven appearances for the Hurricanes in 2007.
He has also represented the Highlanders, and has 45 Super Rugby caps in total.
Smylie made his New Zealand Maori debut in 2006 and was the NPC Division One Player of the Year in 2005.
