Samoan lock Kane Thompson has joined the Chiefs for the next Super Rugby season.
The 29-year-old, who can also play blindside flanker, is currently playing in his second Rugby World Cup, Thompson will start for the Samoan team against the Springboks in their final pool match tonight at North Harbour Stadium.
Thompson still has to pass a medical test but all parties are confident that this is just a formality.
