Sinfield kicks Leeds into final

11:54 am on 1 October 2011

A last-gasp penalty made British Super League history as Leeds Rhinos booked a grand final berth with a 26-24 win over Warrington at Wolves' Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Kevin Sinfield ensured a record for his Rhinos with the penalty two minutes from time - no team that has ended the regular season back in fifth has ever made the showpiece final before.

Leeds will face either St Helens or Wigan in next weekend's grand final.

After the game, the Rhinos' former Test and New South Wales hooker Danny Buderus confirmed he will return to the National Rugby League next season to see out his playing career with former club Newcastle under incoming coach Wayne Bennett.
