The departing Warriors veteran Lance Hohaia says he and Penrith-bound coach Ivan Cleary are proud of their achievements with the Auckland-based side, and he feels they're leaving the club in good health.

The Warriors came up just short of making National Rugby League history Sunday night, going down 24-10 to a clinical Manly outfit in the grand final in Sydney, the senior side unable to match the feats of the Junior Warriors who won their second successive Toyota Cup title after beating North Queensland in a golden point thriller in the under 20's grand final.

Although disappointed to have ended his career with a loss, Hohaia says the Warriors have the depth of talent to become one of the NRL's most successful clubs.

Hohaia is heading to English Super League club St Helens, while Cleary is moving to Sydney to coach the Panthers.
