The New Zealand golf number one Danny Lee has confirmed his place on the United States PGA Tour next year after his first professional title on the second tier Nationwide tour in Texas.

The 21-year-old won the WNB Classic beating American Harris English in a playoff after the pair had both finished at 18 under-par for the tournament.

Lee made par on the first sudden death play off hole while English bogeyed it.

The victory earns Lee $125 thousand and puts him in fourth place on the Nationwide tour money list with the top 25 qualifying for next year's PGA tour.

With only four tournaments remaining in the year his place tour card is guaranteed.
