Wales has beaten Ireland 22-10 in their Rugby World Cup quarter-final in Wellington.

The Welsh scored three tries to one and led 10-3 at half-time.

Winger Shane Williams scored a try after just three minutes, Ireland struck back just after the break through their winger Keith Earles, before Wales split the game open with tries to halfback Mike Phillips and centre Jonathan Davies.

Ireland made too many mistakes in the second half to mount a successful challenge.

It's the first time Wales have made the semi-finals since the inaugural tournament in 1987.

Wales will meet France in the semi-finals.
