7:29 am on 11 October 2011

The referee of the 2007 rugby world cup final, Ireland's Alain Rolland, will take charge of Wales semi-final clash with France at Eden Park on Saturday night, while South Africa's Craig Joubert will preside over the All Blacks semi-final against Australia at the same venue the following evening.

Rolland will be joined by assistant referees Jonathan Kaplan of South Africa and England's Wayne Barnes while Welshman Nigel Owens and Frenchman Romain Poite will support Joubert.

The appointments were made by the IRB's Match Official Selection Committee in Auckland yesterday following a thorough review of quarter-final performances.

Appointments for the Final and Bronze medal match will be made next Monday.
