Nathan Bracken, Ricky Ponting deny match fixing claims

The Australian batsman Shane Watson has urged Nathan Bracken and other cricketers whose names were mentioned in a court case investigating match fixing to act quickly to end the innuendo around them.

Watson is disappointed at claims made by Pakistani player agent Mazhar Majeed in a London trial.

Majeed alleged Australian cricketers were "the biggest" match fixers and was heard, on tapes recorded by the News of the World, saying he had acted on behalf of Bracken.

He also claimed he had contact with Ricky Ponting's manager.

The claims have been vehemently denied by the camps of both players, with Bracken reportedly considering legal action against Majeed.

Watson says such claims unfairly questioned the characters of players and he would rush to defend his reputation if his name was tarnished.
