National Basketball Association owners and locked-out players are expected to meet with a mediator early next week in an attempt to resolve their labour dispute.

The NBA's has already cancelled its preseason and the first two weeks of the regular season because of the lockout and more games could be in jeopardy if a deal is not reached soon.

The league locked out players on July 1st after the two sides failed to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.

When no deal was forthcoming, NBA Commissioner David Stern cancelled the first two weeks of the season, which was scheduled to begin Novomber 1st.
