Injured All Blacks first five eighth Dan Carter has had surgery to repair his torn groin tendon.
Carter had the surgery in Melbourne on Monday and flew back to Auckland on Wednesday.
He hopes to be fully recovered in about 12 weeks.
Carter tore the tendon ahead of the final World Cup pool match against Canada and was ruled out of the rest of the tournament.
