The former Formula 1 world champion Jody Scheckter says Indy Car racing is the most dangerous form of motorsport in the world and that he wants his son Tomas to quit the series following the death of British racer Dan Wheldon.
The 33-year-old Wheldon was killed after being caught up in a horror crash which involved 15 of the 34 cars on the Las Vegas track leaving behind his wife Susie and their two sons, two-year-old Sebastian and seven-month-old Oliver.
South African Scheckter has been trying to convince his son to quit Indy Cars for some time and says the accident at the Las Vegas oval was inevitable.
