France must confront the All Blacks without fear

France must confront the All Blacks without fear and also produce their best performance of the tournament if they are to have any hope of an upset in Sunday's World Cup final, says lock Pascal Pape.

The French have stuttered throughout the tournament, losing to All Blacks and Tonga in pool play and struggling to beat 14-man Wales in the semi-finals.

They do, however, have a history of memorable wins over the All Blacks and were the last team to beat the hosts at Eden Park in 1994.

Pape says despite their poor form they are motivated to win and know the French people are behind them despite the very public falling out between the players and coach Marc Lievremont.
