Wilkinson misses PGA Tour card while Lee climbs to fourth

One New Zealand golfer faded while another continued his climb at the latest US Nationwide Tour event, the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open at the TPC Sawgrass.

Rotorua's Danny Lee carded a two under par 68 to finish in a share of fourth, three shots behind eventual winner Gavin Coles of Australia, while Manawatu's Tim Wilkinson could only manage a disappointing five over 75 for a 11th equal.

Wilkinson needed to win this week to make the top 25 on the Nationwide Order of Merit, who automatically qualify for the PGA Tour.

Lee has already confirmed his place on the PGA Tour and now plays the season-ending National Tour Championship at the Daniel Island club in Charleston.

Fellow New Zealanders Bradley Iles and Josh Geary both missed the cut and will need to return to Q School for a chance to join the PGA Tour next year.
