Denver Broncos score overtime win against the Dolphins

11:00 am on 24 October 2011

The American football quarterback Tim Tebow has rallied the Denver Broncos to a remarkable 18-15 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins, throwing for two touchdowns after a woeful three quarters.

The former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback had completed just three of eight passes for a paltry 24 yards after three quarters in what was a heavily anticipated first start of the season since taking over for Kyle Orton.

With his team down 15-0 and 7:34 left in regulation, Tebow suddenly came alive as he led his team on an 80-yard drive that ended with a five-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas.

The Broncos then recovered an onside kick and Tebow led a 10-play, 56-yard drive.

Tight end Daniel Fells capped the drive with a three-yard touchdown pass from the quarterback.

Tebow ran in the two point conversion to force overtime.

In the first possession in overtime Miami got the ball back but quarterback Matt Moore was sacked and fumbled at the Miami 35 yard line with Denver recovering.

Tebow moved the team forward two yards and then kicker Matt Prater nailed a game-winning field goal from 52 yards.

Miami are now 0-6 and have lost 12 of their last 13 games, adding further pressure on coach Tony Sparano, while Denver improved to 2-4.
