Australia's veteran goal shooter Catherine Cox bounced back from a poor first Test to help the Diamonds level their netball series with the Silver Ferns in Adelaide on Wednesday night.
Cox was dominant as the Diamonds finished strongly to win 51-44 and take their five-match Constellation Cup series to a decider in Melbourne on Sunday.
After losing a thrilling game in Perth last Sunday, Cox was under fire for shooting only 14 from 23, but she improved significantly with 34 from 42.
The Silver Ferns coach Wai Taumaunu defended her decision not to play Irene van Dyk, saying it was never her intention to rest the star shooter to give Cathrine Latu a chance.
In her first Test against Australia Latu shot 27 from 31 although she slowed in the last period which had started at 37-37.
