John Inverarity has been appointed as Australian cricket's new chairman of selectors.
Inverarity will perform the role in a full-time capacity.
He replaces Andrew Hilditch, the part-time chairman who relinquished the post when Cricket Australia made the position a full-time job.
Inverarity played six Tests for Australia between 1968 and 1972 and coached English county clubs Warwickshire and Kent after a distinguished 23-year first-class career.
He'll take up the role in time to oversee selection for Australia's home Test series against New Zealand starting in December.
