The Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert believes his side is playing the best football they have in some time despite falling to their second A-league defeat in two games.
The Phoenix will be gutted to have missed out on any points in yesterday's 2-1 loss to the Melbourne Victory in Wellington after controlling most of the much and creating numerous opportunities in front of goal.
However the yellow and blacks again failed to convert their dominance into points and while Herbert's happy with the way they've been playing, he knows they should have won last night.
The Phoenix will be without Ben Sigmund for Friday night's home clash with the Central Coast Mariners after the defender was red-carded late in the match.
