The Black Caps batsman Jesse Ryder has been ruled out of the one-off cricket Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo starting tomorrow, due to a right calf strain.
Ryder suffered the injury while bowling in the warm-up match against Zimbabwe A at the same venue.
He delivered three balls before feeling discomfort with an scan earlier confirming a the strain.
Ryder will return to New Zealand to undergo further assessment and rehabilitation.
The Test team will be selected from the players currently in Zimbabwe with no replacement joining the squad.
