A Benji Marshall-inspired New Zealand secured their opening victory of the Four Nations rugby league competition with a 36-0 win over Wales in the opening game of the double-header at Wembley Stadium.

Marshall, who was well contained by Australia in last week's 26-12 defeat at Warrington, was in impressive form against Wales, having a hand in all five of his side's first-half tries thanks to well placed kicking and clever passing.

Sika Manu and Gerard Beale scored two tries each, with Jason Nightingale, Kevin Locke, and Nathan Fien also chipping in.

Australia later beat England 36-20 at Wembley.
