Hasler's future at Manly for 2012 under scrutiny

5:51 pm on 9 November 2011

Manly officials are refusing to divulge whether coach Des Hasler's future at the National Rugby League premiers will be put to a vote at a board meeting tonight.

The scheduled meeting of the Sea Eagles board will take place at the club's headquarters, with speculation the Canterbury-bound Hasler could be shown the door.

Hasler last month agreed to a four-year deal to coach the Bulldogs from 2013, with the Manly board declaring he would see out the final year of his contract with the Sea Eagles to oversee their premiership defence in 2012.

But pressure is mounting on the Sea Eagles to remove Hasler immediately, with the club's backroom staff being recruited by the NRL rivals.

There have been reports Kiwis five-eighth Kieran Foran is also being targeted by the Bulldogs for 2013, prompting talk of a fallout between Hasler and assistant coach Geoff Toovey - who will succeed Hasler as Manly coach.
